About Me
Hi, my name is Ruby. I am also known professionally as Rubix Studios. I am a solo game developer with over three years of experience creating games in Unreal Engine 5 using Blueprint Visual Scripting and creating assets in Photoshop and Magicavoxel. I enjoy taking an idea from concept to a finished prototype, combining creativity, problem-solving, and accessibility to create fun and memorable gameplay experiences for all ages and abilities.
My development process begins with researching ideas and designing the core gameplay before creating the visuals, polishing the mechanics, playtesting, and refining the experience through player feedback. I enjoy taking a basic idea, making and developing it, improving the gameplay, polishing mechanics, designing assets and implementing accessibility features and then see what my final result is, as it gives me satisfaction. I like to ensure my games are enjoyable for as many players as possible.
My proudest achievement is Through The Darkness, an accessibility-focused game designed specifically for the blind and visually impaired players. It was developed entirely by me in Unreal Engine 5, and it was selected as a BAFTA Young Game Designers 2025 Finalist. Overall, reflecting my passion for inclusive game design and the skills I have developed throughout my game development journey.
I am always expanding my knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 and enjoy creating colourful UI, pixel art, and voxel art that give my projects their own identity. I am currently seeking Junior Game Developer, Gameplay Designer, and Unreal Engine Developer opportunities, and I am also open to collaborating with musicians, voice actors, and sound designers on future projects.
